Dani van Rooij

I grew up in Weesp, just outside Amsterdam, which has since become part of the city itself. My fascination with Amsterdam started by showing family and friends from abroad around the city and its surrounding areas, which eventually inspired me to co-found Things To Do In Amsterdam.

As someone passionate about boating and watersports, Amsterdam’s canals have always been one of my favourite parts of the city. My favourite Amsterdam event is SAIL, and I still think one of the best ways to experience Amsterdam is from the water on a canal cruise.

When travelling, I enjoy going beyond the beaten path by renting a car or scooter and exploring destinations independently — an approach that also shapes the content I create about Amsterdam.
