Al contrario, i territori venivano spesso colonizzati e sfruttati. Fu un’epoca violenta in cui l’umanità veniva messa da parte a favore del benessere economico. Il ruolo dei Paesi Bassi nella schiavitù è spesso descritto come una pagina nera della storia del Paese. Un lato della storia che viene raccontato anche al Museo Marittimo Nazionale.
