Het Modern Contemporary Museum in Amsterdam, ook wel bekend als Moco Museum, heeft een collectie aan moderne en hedendaagse kunstwerken van kunstenaars van deze eeuw. Het Moco Museum ligt met haar vloer-tot-plafond creaties aan het Museumplein waar je de meest bekende musea van Amsterdam vindt. Tussen het Rijksmuseum, van Gogh Museum en het Stedelijk Museum vind je Moco in Villa Alsberg, dat gebouwd is in 1904 en is een mooie plek om het werk van de kunstenaars te laten zien.

Moco Museum Amsterdam: permanente collectie
Het Moco Museum pronkt altijd met de mooiste tentoonstellingen. Moco wisselt mooie exposities vaak af, maar er zijn ook permanente collecties te vinden in Het Modern Contemporary Museum. De permanente collectie van Moco: Banksy – laugh now en Moco Masters.
Banksy in Moco – Laugh now (Permanente Collectie)
Moco Amsterdam prijst zichzelf om de grootste collecties van de kunstwerken van Banksy, met meer dan 90 originele kunstwerken. Banksy begon zijn carrière als straatkunstenaar, beduidend anders dan zijn artistieke vermogen. Zijn carrière is te danken aan het mysterie. Wie is Banksy?
Al vanaf de jaren ‘90 creëerde Banksy baanbrekende en inspirerende kunst in de vorm van sculpturen en politieke stukken binnen Londen. Banksy’s werk werd zo populair binnen de media dat bezoekers het ergens moesten zien. Zijn werken op canvas, sculpturen en zelfs graffiti zijn gered van gebouwen die gesloopt zijn. Deze zijn nog altijd te zien in Moco Amsterdam.
Moco Masters (Permanente Collectie)
Deze permanente collectie in het Moco Museum laat het talent zien van belangrijke kunstenaars van de 20e eeuw. Je ziet creaties van invloedrijke kunstenaars als Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons en Keith Haring. Samen laten de collecties de betekenis van deze kunstenaars in de huidige maatschappij zien. Het is het bewijs dat ze echte masters in moderne kunst zijn: Moco Masters.

The New FuTure Amsterdam – tijdelijk in Moco
De New FuTure tentoonstelling is de allereerste tentoonstellingen binnen Europa die zich richt op het NFT-fenomeen, ookwel Non-fungibale tokens. Het Moco Museum laat met deze tentoonstelling zien dat er toekomst is in digitale kunst. In de NFT-tentoonstelling vind je digitale kunst van onder andere: Beeple, Andrés Reisinger, WhIsBe, Mad Dog Jones, Pak en FEWOCiOUS.
The Future Is Old – tijdelijk in Moco
In deze expositie van het Moco Museum laat THE KID je kennismaken met de huidige toestand van de welbekende American Dream. THE KID laat je nadenken over democratie, macht, privilege en de gepolariseerde wereld waar de jeugd van tegenwoordig in moet leven. De tentoonstelling bestaat uit hyperrealistische, levensgrote portretten en sculpturen.
Studio Irma Reflecting Forward – tijdelijk in Moco
Moco x Studio Irma laat je met eindeloze verbanden zien hoe de toekomst eruit kan zien. Ook wordt er een nieuwe stroming geïntroduceerd: connectivisme. De collectie schreeuwt kleur en omvat verschillende installatieruimtes.
