C’est en 2014 que Micropia, un musée spécialisé dans les microbes, a ouvert ses portes. Il est situé à Amsterdam East (Oos) et il fait partie du zoo Artis Amsterdam Royal.
Les expositions ont pour but de vous faire découvrir ce que l’on ne voit pas à l’oeil nu. En effet, vous observerez des millions de micro-organismes, que l’on peut trouver n’importe où. Ces microbes sont l’essence même de notre vie.
Au sein du musée vous pourrez voir des plantes, des animaux et d’autres objets de la vie quotidienne.
Le microscope moderne est en soi une invention essentiellement néerlandaise. Antonie van Leeuwenhoek a amélioré la conception et le grossissement, tout en ouvrant la voie à ce que nous appelons aujourd’hui la microbiologie.
En parcourant le musée, vous apprendrez de nouvelles choses sur la science. Dans le laboratoire, les techniciens de laboratoire peuvent enseigner aux invités de tous âges les microbes, la science et la biologie, ainsi que les antibiotiques.
