Renting a sloop in the Weerribben: what you need to know

Available types of sloops
Electric whisper boats
These compact, whisper-quiet sloops are electrically powered and are ideal for cruising through the wetlands in peace. Depending on the model, they are suitable for 4, 6, or 8 people.
Comfort sloops
More spacious sloops with comfortable seating and cushions, perfect for families or groups who want that little bit extra. Sloops available for 4 to 10 people.
Guided boat tour
You can also choose a guided tour where you enter the National Park accompanied by a skipper. The shortest tour lasts approximately 60 minutes, depending on how busy it is on the water.
During this trip, you will sail through narrow reed canals, past historic reed farms, and under wooden bridges. The guide shares fascinating stories about the history of the Weerribben-Wieden along the way.
Private boat tour
For an intimate experience, you can choose a private tour of approximately 60 minutes for up to six people, discovering secluded corners that are often off the standard tourist path.
Boating routes
With the Giethoorn boating app, you can select four beautiful boating routes, each with its own character and duration. Whether you want to sail for one hour or several hours, there is a route that fits your schedule:
- Route 1 – 1 to 1.5 hours
- Route 2 – 1.5 to 2 hours
- Route 3 – 2 hours
- Route 4 – 3 hours or more
