Amsterdam isn’t just the city of canals, coffee shops and the Red Light District, it is also a beautiful city with a rich erotic past. Located in an old warehouse in Amsterdam’s iconic Red Light District, the Erotic Museum Amsterdam is where you learn all about the history of erotica in the Netherlands and how far it has come through the years. Also in the exhibition are; a collection of erotic objects, posters and photographs.
Housed in a three-storey building, the Erotic Museum Amsterdam aims to educate visitors on the erotic past of the Netherlands and the history of prostitution in the country. The Museum houses a shop with erotica souvenirs, an exhibition on the Red Light District, a room with a wax figure of a working girl on a bike and a model of the cashier of the famous Casa Rosso Live Show Theater. Some of the main attractions are collections of erotica photographs and illustrations by John Lennon and an adult (version) projection of the animated movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.
