Ice Bar Amsterdam

The Xtracold Icebar Amsterdam offers a welcome refreshment when you feel a bit overwhelmed with the amount of tourist attractions. If you’re looking for something a little less traditional, look no further than the Ice Bar Amsterdam.

While you may have your days packed with activities and visits to the Amsterdam museums, biking tours of the city or boat tours of the canals, you may not have as many ideas when it comes to night time activities. At Ice bar Amsterdam, you can cool down and unwind by stopping by for a tour and few drinks, but this isn’t any old drinking bar… at Ice bar Amsterdam, you can drink at a bar actually made out of ice in a room set at a cool -10º C! There’s no official dress code for the icebar but for your own comfort, we advise you to wear a warm comfortable sweater or vest that you can take off later. Located a few minutes away from the popular Rembrandt Square, an often crowded drinking and nightlife area, you can start your night or end your day with this unique experience.

Your visit at the Ice bar includes a 20-minute tour by Willem Barentsz, who will take you on a journey with his stories of living on his ship The Mecury during 1596, and learn what it’s like to be stranded on the North Pole. Your visit to the Ice Bar will include 3 free drinks – you will be greeted with a welcome cocktail in the lounge, and then 2 others drinks at the XtraCold icebar, where you can choose from a range of beers, orange juices or shots. The “coolest” feature at the bar is in fact the bar- sculpted out of 60 tons of natural ice. But don’t worry about dressing up for the occasion, for your experience and comfort they provide you with warm clothing and gloves so you’ll be able to keep a steady grip on your glass, which is also made out of ice!

Fine

It was fun, but short experience. We spend about 90 minutes.

Good start of a night out

We had fun with the blokes. It's not like you're going to stay there all night, but it gets the party going!
