The Philosophy of Nemo Amsterdam is: ‘Discover the world for yourself’. The Nemo Science Center is best known for the interactive setting. They offer an unique experience for both young and old. With the help of experiments that you get to do yourself, science is explained in a understandable way. In contrary to most museums you will be allowed to touch everything yourself. Therefore the a day to the Nemo Science Center is exceptional fun and educative experience for kids.   • The search for life: Learn everything about the secrets of life, on earth and extra terrestrial life forms.
  • Teen Facts: dare your company or work together on the funny tests about teens and their hormones.
  • Laboratory: the core of Nemo is science. In this exhibition your the scientist. First you have to dress like one and let all the crazy experiments begin.
  • Journey through the mind: curious about what happens into your head? Discover everything about the human brain in an interactive way.
  • Smart Technology: sustainability needs smart technology to fight against the pollution. Discover the (newest) energy-saving creations.
  • Energetica: on the roof of Nemo you can learn how to generate power with the elements of nature.

Be prepared that after you visited Nemo Amsterdam, the world will be never the same anymore as you know it!

Note: when you arrive, we advice you to let yourself be well informed about the many workshops or demonstrations  during your visit that day.

 Opening hours

Nemo Amsterdam is open every week from Tuesday to Sunday. Between 28 March  up to and including 4 September  2016 they are also open on Monday. Also on Monday 15 and 30 October,  21 and 28 December  and 4January.

Note: on the follow three dates Nemo Amsterdam is closed: 27 April  (Kings day), 25 2016 December  (Christmas) and 1 January (New Year’s day).

You can acquire you tickets at the entrance for Nemo Amsterdam. Nowadays more people order their tickets online, because you can skip the (long) queues. Nemo Amsterdam is located at Oosterdok 2 which is very close to Amsterdam Central Station. When you are at Amsterdam Central Station science center nemo is very easy to recognize by it’s unique color and shape.  Just look for an copper-green building, it’s really a one of a kind structure. It is ment to be a ship that is rising from the waters above Amsterdam’s IJ tunnel. The picture on the right gives you a foretaste how Nemo looks from the outside. Nemo Amsterdam is located at Amsterdam Central Station. In this case any transport that brings you to Amsterdam Central Station, will lead you directly to Nemo Amsterdam. From Amsterdam Central Station it is a 5 minute walk to Oosterdok 2, which is the address of the Nemo museum.

Really entertaining!

It's amazing how the museum both educates and entertains at the same time. You can really learn while enjoying yourself. That said, you shouldn't go there if you don't like children as the place is swarmed with kids.
