What can I expect during a visit to Nxt Museum?

Coats and small bags are allowed in the museum, but you must store large bags and backpacks and the museum does not have the facilities to store large suitcases or other luggage.

Is Nxt Museum accessible?

The exhibition, restaurant and toilets at Nxt Museum are accessible via wheelchair ramps or alternative routes. Nxt Museum also has disabled parking slots which you can book ahead of time.

In addition, visitors who are unable to navigate their way through the museum independently can bring a companion with them for free. However, the exhibition does contain flashing video images and loud sounds which might not be suitable for those with epilepsy.

Is Nxt Museum suitable for children?

People of all ages can enjoy Nxt Museum! However, if you are considering bringing young children, bear in mind that some artworks and installations are housed within dark rooms with loud sounds, flashing videos, some strong language, and some sexual scenes and nudity.

In terms of entry to the museum, children aged 12 and over can visit unaccompanied, but they cannot supervise younger children.

Unfortunately, due to the loud noises and flashing lights, pets are not allowed in the exhibition, except for registered assistance dogs.

Roughly how long does a visit take?

You can take as long as you wish in the exhibition (up until closing time!), but you should allow at least 1 to 1 ½ hours for your visit.

Is Nxt Museum open every day?

Nxt Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday. The museum is open from 10:30 AM until 8:30 PM Sundays and Tuesdays, 10:30 AM until 9:30 PM on Wednesdays and 10:30 AM until 10:30 PM Thursdays to Saturdays.

Do I have to book a ticket in advance, or can I get a ticket on the door?

To enter Nxt Museum you must book a ticket online
in advance.

Can I take photos in Nxt Museum?

You can take photos in Nxt Museum with your phone, however, professional photography equipment such as cameras with changeable lenses, tripods and flash are not allowed.

Nxt museum tickets and discounts

You can purchase tickets for Nxt Museum solely online via the museum’s ticket shop. Simply tap the blue button below to order your Nxt Museum tickets.

Nxt Museum tickets are not refundable but you can reschedule your booking up to four hours before your visit by contacting the museum’s ticket support.

The museum accepts Stadspas, CJP/EYCA and I Amsterdam City Cards but does not accept Museumjaarkaart or ICOM cards.

Standard adult ticket prices vary from €20.50 to €24.75 depending on your chosen time slot, thanks to a special rate during early and late time slots on weekdays.

Additionally, Nxt Museum discounts are available for students with tickets at €18.00.

Nxt Museum guided tours

Groups of more than 10 people can make a group booking via the museum’s website. Just be sure to make your group booking to Nxt Museum at least two weeks in advance.

Nxt Museum is located at Asterweg 22 in Amsterdam. Parking is not allowed on the premises of Nxt Museum, however, and is very limited in the neighbourhood. Therefore, the museum encourages visitors to travel to the museum by bike, on foot or using Amsterdam’s electric shared transportation.

From De Pijp

It takes around 30 minutes from De Pijp by metro. First, take line 52 towards Noord/North and exit at Noorderpark Station (four stops). Then, walk 10 minutes to Nxt Museum.

From Museumplein

From Museumplein, first walk 10 minutes to Vijzelgracht Metro Station and take line 52 towards Noord/North. Then, exit at Noorderpark Station (three stops). From there, walk 10 minutes to Nxt Museum.

From Amsterdam Central Station

Nxt Museum is just a 10-minute cycle or 20-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. First, take the ferry to Buiksloterweg (located at the rear of the station). After the five-minute crossing, walk or cycle the short distance to Nxt Museum.
