Youseum

Unfortunately, Youseum is permanently closed due to financial problems. However, we strongly recommend you check out The Upside Down or WONDR Experience instead!

Youseum is a place unlike any other Instagram museums to date in Amsterdam. Youseum Amsterdam is where you are challenged to think critically about the importance of yourself as the centre of your own social media feed. It is where you play the leading role in an interactive museum tour once you get inside. In this way you experience what it is like to drown in your own popularity, walk through a real ‘likes factory‘ and get an infinite dose of yourself in the largest infinity room you have ever seen.

Youseum goes all out for the most unique social media experience you’ve ever had and the best Instagrammable selfies – with none other than you as the radiant centrepiece. As icing on the cake, you can buy products in the museum shop.

What is the impact of so much self-love? It is entirely up to you to go on that journey of self-discovery and be the judge. Don’t miss out on this unique experience. Visit Youseum, enjoy the experience and learn more about yourself.

Taking Instagrammable selfies in Youseum Amsterdam

It seems like Instagram museums are suddenly popping up like mushrooms in Amsterdam. Youseum is the perfect place for those who love being in front of the camera, and also those who love photography and working with capturing the moment. It is where everything is cheerful and colourful, and the perfect place to show just how photogenic you are. Youseum is different from other Instagram museums because it focuses more on art, our thoughts as humans, and, of course, our stories. It can be described as an interactive museum aimed at the social media generation.

Fun and Educational

In Youseum you will find 15 different rooms with 30 different elements incorporated in them. But it is not just about taking the perfect selfie. The rooms have social themes that make you think. For example, there is a room in which you intuitively walk under the surface of the water where all plastic floats. This was done in collaboration with “Plastic Soup Foundation”. But also a space furnished as a warehouse with all kinds of transport boxes full of likes and a pink forklift. That makes you think about our social media culture. Subjects such as money, gender equality, and vegan food also come to light. All in a super interesting, artistic, and inspiring way. This allows you to combine taking great photos (there is also an infinity room, for example!) with thinking about (online) life. So much to see, feel, take part in, and ponder.
