How Germans see Amsterdam – 257-ers

22 June, 2016 in Blog by Dani

The Germans in the following clip have made tribute song to Holland. Or is the city called Amsterdam? They don’t seem to know, nor care. At least they do know about all the cliches concerning Amsterdam. In the song all cliches from coffeeshops, to wooden shoes, to The Redlight District, they are all subject to this German ode to Amsterdam.

Although the German hip-hop duo who call themselve the 257ers are making fun of the Netherlands, we did have a good laugh ourselves when watching the video. In case you might have missed out, our much appreciated neighbours are making fun in their song called Holland by;

  • Mixing up Holland and Amsterdam. Calling Holland a ‘Stadt’ which means city.
  • Using the French flag instead of the Dutch
  • Showing The Eifeltower from Paris

257ers thanks for the free publicity! We love to see Germans enjoying themselves in Holland. Auf wiedersehen!
