Luxury dinner cruise on the Amsterdam canals
When you think about Amsterdam, you’ll probably think about the many interesting museums, liberal culture with coffeeshops and Red Light area. However, once you’ve visited the city, you’ll probably remember Amsterdam’s distinctive architecture and many canals. Did you know that Amsterdam’s Canal Belt is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site? Therefore, we strongly recommend anyone visiting the Dutch capital to book a canal cruise, so you can truly enjoy this iconic historic area in all peace. We were lucky to be invited by Amsterdam Boats to enjoy their 3-hour luxury canal cruise, including a 3-course dinner. A wonderful, relaxing experience that we can highly recommend! If you’re interested in this cruise, do make sure to book in time, as the boats are often fully booked! Is there no availability anymore on this cruise, or are you looking for a more intimate setting? You can also book a private cruise completely tailored to your wishes, an ideal option for private parties, anniversaries or even marriage proposals!
Due to high demand, this cruise is now also available as a 3-hour luxury lunch cruise!

Of course, in Amsterdam, you’ll find plenty of restaurants where you can have a proper dinner. So what is the added value of dining on a boat? Well, the answer is rather simple; you’re combining the best of both worlds while escaping the crowds on the streets! While you sit back, enjoy a drink and a bite, you can watch the city pass you by. Once you step aboard the romantic ship, the friendly staff will make sure that you will feel at home and comfortable. During the cruise, you can either sit inside or enjoy the sights from the rear deck.
Three-course à la carte dinner included
The characteristic vessel will come to pick you up around half past 6 in the evening, near the City Hall. The captain and waitress will give you a warm welcome with a welcome drink and some bites at your private table. Once you set sail, you’ll be presented the menu which offers a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian dishes. Once you’ve made your choice, the boat will set sail towards the restaurant that freshly prepares the dishes of choice. Before the first course is served, there is a tasty appetizer to start off with. After the first course, the boat will return to the restaurant to pick up the main course and dessert. Thanks to the three hours, the pace of the courses is not too fast. In between the courses, you can go outside to enjoy the views from the deck. If the weather allows it, the boat can open the roof. If the weather is less friendly, the boat will be comfortably warmed. The nicely set tables and wooden accents of the boat make up for a warm, cosy atmosphere already!
See the highlights of Amsterdam
Since it’s a 3-hour cruise, the ship is able to cover more distance than regular cruises. You will get to see all the famous canals of the city, among which the Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Brouwersgracht. Also, you’ll pass by many highlights including the Anne Frank House, Skinny Bridge, NEMO science museum, National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam Central Station and many more are to be seen on the route.
How and when to book your cruise
Due to high demand and limited availability, we strongly recommend booking this cruise as early as possible. At this moment, bookings are available every Saturday and Sunday night. The cost of this luxury dinner cruise including the 3-course dinner is currently €95,- per person. For this price, all dishes, the appetizer and welcome drink are included. During the cruise, you can also get various drinks including soft drinks, wine, beer, mixed drinks and coffee, these drinks are not included in the price and are to be paid by card at the end of the cruise.
