Controversial bill board spoofed by Twitterer from Amsterdam

02 August, 2016 in Blog by Dani

Once again Radio Station 538 hits the news for a controversial bill board campaign. Just like previous bill boarding campaigns in Amsterdam, people felt offended by the suggestiveness of the ads. On Twitter a blogger posted a photo off the ad. She said the radio station responsible for the ad should be ashamed for publishing such an advertisement in public. And although we are quite liberal in Amsterdam, we can’t really blame her. See for yourself:

In answer to the inappropriate campaign by 538, twitterers decided to make their own version of the advertisement. The spoof is exceptionally well executed. The radio station found the picture so hilarious that decided to hang it and hang it in the studio.

I really have the feeling that this wasn’t the last controversial billboard campaign by the radio station. They have a name for doing it. And as long as they succeed to shock people, there will be rumor. Controversial or not, they definitely know how to attract the attention.
